Description

The Perrin’s Path Project is a walking and biking trail that runs along Robert Grissom Parkway between 62nd and 48th avenues in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  The path is part of the East Coast Greenway, a 3,000 mile pedestrian trail that runs from Maine to the Florida Keys.

This particular segment that runs through Myrtle Beach is named in memory of Perrin Lawson Jr., a longtime resident and civic activist who passed away in 2001.  To keep Perrin’s legacy alive, local groups and volunteers have provided their time and energy to this cause, designing this portion of the trail for the benefit of the community.

Perrin’s Path will include a sustainable interpretive center and an amphitheatre.  The center will include many sustainable features to educate and engage visitors passing through. These amenities include a shelter with photovoltaic panels, bioswale, rain garden, the use of permeable pavers, interpretive signage, bike racks and picnic tables.
